NKOTB Here We Come
Listen up everybody if you wanna take a chance.
"I'll just zip around here and pull up. You can jump out and get the tickets at the box office," my colleague said like a pro.
Students were released early from school today due to parent teacher conferneces this evening. I'd sent out an email in the fall to a handful of like-minded colleagues to feel out interest in attending a New Kids on the Block concert this June. Enthusiastic emails were exchanged, and we started making plans. But then school and life and COVID surges took over and the idea dissolved for a bit. At one point, I researched how much it would cost to purchase tickets online, and with fees it was more than double the price of the ticket itself. Outrageous.
My thrifty colleague came up with a plan to drive downtown to the box office to purchase the tickets for the price of the actual ticket without any fees to jack it up. Today's early release was a perfect opportunity to make this concert adventure official.
Thankfully downtown wasn't very busy at 1:00pm, and she was able to pull right up into the loading zone right in front of the box office. We both hopped out and procured our 9 tickets from the very helpful attendant. It was a smooth, painless, and quick process.
We scrambled back to the car dodging the rain as giddy as the teenagers we once were listening to this beautiful boy band belt out their songs. Summer can't get here fast enough.
