The little things

So much uncertainty and stress

So many differing opinions, best practices to stay safe,

to stay healthy.

It can be too much.

Way too much.

Focusing on the little things helps.

Helps to bring some joy, some peace–

The smell of warm spring air.

The smell of a storm approaching.

The storm itself.

My kids looking outside hoping to witness a thunderbolt (no such luck this time).

The birds chirping wildly at 5:30am.

Leaving the bedroom window open all night.

A 5 year old break dancing on the kitchen floor.

Jogging a bit longer on the treadmill than the day before.

Even the constant bickering of siblings.

These are the things that are normal.

These are the things bringing a sense that everything will be OK.
